From: hhm@ihlpy.ATT.COM (Mayo) Interviews with all of the surviving German aces will invariably cover the subject of their high kill numbers. This is a subject that will raise their blood pressure considerably. Many feel that there has been an effort to downgrade their accomplishments, such as the false claims that kills were added up by number of engines, wildly inflated for propaganda reasons, etc. As one poster pointed out, the requirements for counting a kill were more strict for the Germans. Also, no ground destroyed aircraft were counted. All of their victories were genuine, and against pilots who could shoot back. Most of the aces, including Galland, feel that Werner Molders was the best of all of them, and that had he lived, he would have scored the highest. Larry
