I am looking for a reference book which shows detailed pictures
and drawings of the German V I, or the American built version
nicknamed the "Thunderbug". I thumbed through one very good book
at a hobby store once, however I can't remember the title or any
other details.

These are photo books much like the "Squadron Signal" series. They typically have 50+ BW photos/drawings with German captions. The photos are usually very good and include detail shots. They are well worth the $7 price (IMHO).
