From: "Eric D. Hendrickson" <eric@ux.acss.umn.edu> What kind of specs does the Titan 4 have, and what are those of others such as the Saturn V, the MX, and the larger soviet rockets/missiles? Eric eric@ux.acss.umn.edu

From: henry@zoo.toronto.edu (Henry Spencer) >What kind of specs does the Titan 4 have, and what are those of others >such as the Saturn V, the MX, and the larger soviet rockets/missiles? Are you after space launchers or missiles? Despite some historical relationships, the two classes are almost entirely different vehicles these days. The Titan 4 is a very new spacelauncher; its capabilities depend to some extent on what upper stage one specifies, but 20 tons to low orbit is a reasonable number. The Saturn V no longer exists, but was capable of 150-200 tons to low orbit. The MX is a missile. There are quite a few Soviet missiles. The biggest Soviet space launcher is Energia, capable of perhaps 100 tons to low orbit now and probably as much as 200 with a bit of stretching.
