From: Donald.Lindsay@MATHOM.GANDALF.CS.CMU.EDU Really large vessels don't visit Bermuda, but midsize stuff can get through the coral into the sound. They anchor out in the middle and use lighters to go back and forth from the Naval Annex, which is a peninsula in the SE corner of the sound. Some vessels can make it all the way into Hamilton Harbor: I have slides of a missile cruiser to prove it. There's also a Canadian base at the NE tip: I think it had dock space for perhaps a couple of outboard fishing boats. (It's there primarliy for communications.) There's also some buildings on the south shore, opposite the Naval Annex, and inside the Port Royal Golf Course - the one you see in all those travel brochures. This is the Naval Facility (NavFacBDA), where I worked. It doesn't even have a fishing dock, but then, it was primarily supported from the Annex, which had the barracks and all. Don
