The German 8th Army has received only a few scattered regiments as
reinforcements.  It has been ordered to defend against the counterattacking
Poles until the attack is broken, then go over to the offensive.  The
Poles, however, show no sign of slacking at this time.

The U.S. Navy announces that it will maintain "Neutrality Patrols" along
the Eastern Seaboard and in the Caribbean.

The leaders of Britain and France meet in the first Allied Supreme
War Council, at Abbeville.  French General Gamelin announces his plan to
cancel the Saar offensive.
