The city of Warsaw is now surrounded by the Germans.  19th Panzerkorps
(Guderian) captures all of Brest save the citadel; lead elements
of the corps drive south along the Bug.

Rumania announces that it will grant asylum to Polish refugees, but
will inter military personnel.  The German 14th Army is ordered
to prevent the escape of Polish soldiers into Rumania.

The first British transatlantic convoy sets sail from Kingston, Jamaica.

German radio broadcasts interviews with British and New Zealand aviators 
captured  during the raid on Wilhelmshaven (4 September).
