Soviet forces have now advanced up to 100km into Poland, still meeting
only light resistance.

Some elements of the Army of Poznan succeed in fighting through
German lines and entering Warsaw. The Army of Pomorze, though, is
unable to escape the pocket in the Bzura bend.

There are now about 180,000 Polish troops in Warsaw.

The SS Kensington Court is caught at sea by a U-boat, shelled, and
sunk. Only 34 survivors are rescued.

"The 2nd Vienna Panzer Division and the 45th Linz Infantry Division
have been wiped out completely in the fighting around Grodek near Lvov."

were heavy but not disastrous]
