From: steve@ncsc.navy.mil (Mahan) The Soviets currently have havercraft in their military inventory. The US Navy is using hovercraft with their new amphibious assault ship classes ( LSD and LHD ship classes) for shore assault and equipment ferry duties. The craft are large enough to carry an M1 tank. Here in Panama City we get these craft for checkout before they are deployed to their regular operational sites.
