King Leopold of Belgium announces that nation's neutrality in the
European conflict.

The City of Flint has left Murmansk with the German prize crew in
control; her destination is believed to be a German port; Berlin
hints that she will be escorted by U-boats.

British Prime Minister Chamberlain endorses Churchill's recent statement
that the Soviet invasion of Poland was necessary for Russia's safety.
Britain also opens trade discussions with the USSR.

Allied estimates place 1.5 million German troops opposite of the French
border, and claim they are ready to assemble for an overnight attack.

China's guerilla tactics in the Hunan and Kiangsi provinces are
reportedly achieving good success against Japanese forces there.
