From: garth!yu@unix.sri.com (Timmy Yu) The Me109 is surely a great airplane at that time. The German plane had fuel injection in the engine in 1940's. During the Battle of Britain, the plane dive without any choking problem while the more maneverable Spitfire is no match in the dive chase. This hit and run technique was best shown by the top WW11 ace( I forgot this German guy's name) who shot dowm more than 300 planes in Russian front with his ME109. The FW190 was a more advanced German fighter with a more powerful engine and a cage-less canopy compared with the Me109. The FW190 has superb rate of climb and high speed which gave much headaches to the British Spitfire. Oh, by the way, did anyone know anything about the F4U Corsair in the Pacific sky? What about the performance of Corsair compared to Zero ? Timmy
