I am looking for information on the RCAF's 6th Bomb Group, 242
Squadron. My father was in this squadron during WWII and I would like to
know more about it. Unfortunately he passed away several years ago and I
never got around to asking him too much about it. I do know that it was
known as the "Bluenose" Squadron (because of the blue spinners on the props)
and that it was a Pathfinder squadron flying Lancasters out of Croft Air
Base in England, but I would like to get more historical information to get
a better picture of their role and accomplishments. If anyone knows of
a good book covering the various RCAF bomber groups, I would be very
appreciative of the information. Alternately, and maybe preferably, if
there are any alumni of this squadron out there, I would like to hear from
you.
Thanks in advance for any help.
