On the subject of WWIII type books:

Another book on WWIII is _Red_Army_ by Ralph Peters. This one is about
a NATO/PACT war in Central Europe, but it's from the Soviet point of
view. (They actually win!) The book has been reviewed in this
newsgroup before, so I will be brief.

The book concentrates on NORTHAG action. The Peters is less
technologically oriented than others, but IMHO does a much better job
of portraying the psychology of the Soviets. (Peters is former US Army
intelligence officer.) He also does not show much in the way of
failing weapons, but he does an excellent job at portraying the "fog
of war". His feeling is that NATO's problems are not numbers or
technology, but politics and organization. I found the book both
entertaining and thought provoking. Bad cover art, terrible picture of
the author.
