Finnish Blenheim bombers raid the Soviet naval base at Kronstadt.

In the North Sea, the U-22 sinks the destroyer HMS Exmouth, with all
hands.  This is the twenty-first naval vessel lost by Great Britain
since the war's beginning.  In addition, 3 British and 3 neutral
merchant ships are lost.  

The Japanese liner Asama Maru is stopped off the Japanese coast by the
British cruiser HMS Gloucester.  21 of her passengers, technicians
from Germany, are taken aboard the warship, and Japan protests.
