Soviet attacks begin to make headway in the Mannerheim line, after
fresh divisions are added to the assault. Moscow claims that 13 forts
have been captured today, though Finnish sources deny the report.

Turkey confiscates the German-owned Krupp shipyard on the Golden Horn,
discharging the Germans working there to produce ships for the Turkish
fleet.

Britain announces that, effective 11 March, fresh meat would be rationed.
Each person older than 6 will be allowed to spend one shilling, 10 pence
per week, about (one pound of meat) with young children receiving half that.
