Oh, Boy!

Right when you think the world has run out of goofy weapons and plots,
some nutcase in the Middle East tries another one...

The Iraqi "nuclear cannon" came just in time...

For those of you who haven't heard, the British Customs Service confiscated
some huge sections of steel pipe that they say was intended to be used in
a 40 yard long cannon, which could hurl a 2-ton projectile 600 to 1000 miles.

The fellow who supposedly designed the cannon was murdered recently in a
"professional" manner...

The British company that cast the pipe said it was for oil pipeline, but none
of the news stories I've seen have shown pipe thicknesses yet... only some big
cylinders wrapped in paper and capped with plywood...

I thought big cannons went out with the German "Millipede" in WWII, but this
sounds pretty interesting...
