From: boulder!snoopy!scottmi@ncar.UCAR.EDU (SCOTT MICHAEL C) The second highest scoring US ace in the Pacific, Thomas McGuffy (I believe) obtained a number of his 38 kills doing precisely that -- throttling back one engine to tighten a turn. He was killed while doing this, too. His plane stalled, and he crashed. --don't like snow, miss Deirdre, and wish I was still in Santa Cruz.
