King Haakon of Norway and his government board the cruiser
HMS Devonshire for evacuation to Britain. The carrier HMS Glorious
evacuates numerous British aircraft, and for the first time Hawker
Hurricanes are landed aboard a carrier.

General Rommel's tanks gain 48 kilometers, occupying Forges-les-
Eaux near Rouen.

The French Naval Air Force sends a small flight of converted mail
planes in a token raid on Berlin. Whether the craft actually bombed
that city is disputed.

The French carrier Bearn sails for North America, reportedly to embark a
shipment of new Curtiss-Wright bombers. Italy orders her merchant fleet
to seek harbor in neutral ports.
