As I mentioned next week in my talk on reversible time... (08/29/90)
From: "As I mentioned next week in my talk on reversible time..." On 14 August 1990, Marine replacements left Camp Lejeune, by way of Morehead City, NC. bound for the coast of Liberia. This Marine assault ship was reportedly diverted to the Persian Gulf or the Mediterranean Sea on Thursday 16 August. This ship was to relieve the U.S.S. Saipan, which handled the evacuation in Monrovia. The Saipan was scheduled to leave Liberian waters around 25 August, and dock in Morehead City around 6 September. Does anyone know if its orders have been changed? Where were the replacements sent? And what is the current status of the Saipan? Also, any up to date news on American involvement in the Liberian civil war since the five-nation West African forces are now on shore? We have been keeping a real close eye on the Middle East, for obvoius reasons, but remember, some of our men are elsewhere. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Larry AYDLETT@UNCG.BITNET
