From: ran el-Yaniv <yaniv%shum.huji.ac.il@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU> The MiG 25 has a few interesting "features" (as in "its not a bug, its a feature"). The Soviet Union, despite being one of the major titanium manufacturers in the world, built the a/c with steel instead of titanium high-tempratures areas. This, of course, adds to the weight without giving anything in return. The maximum speed is NOT ATTAINABLE. Well, it is, but it is impossible to maintain it for any length of time, as this would wreck the engines. The MiG 25 is worthless as far as close-in air combat is concerned. It can pull 2g with full internal fuel (all 14 tonnes of it), and 5g with half the fuel. yaniv
