Since we've had discussion of recent concerning ZL-1 Camaros, thought this might interest some of you. Saw in the latest issue of "Super Chevy" magazine, an ad for a '69 ZL-1 Camaro for $20,000. The ad stated that the president of the national 'ZL-1 Club' had seen it and said it was the nicest one he'd ever seen. So far so good, right? Just one small problem. It didn't have the original motor! It had an iron re- placement block. RIGHT! It may have been the nicest one that guy had seen, but $20,000!?! And no aluminum motor!?! This guy has got to be joking. All you're basically buying for $20K is a bare-bones, no frills '69 Camaro with super beefed up suspension, and a cowl tag that says it's a ZL-1. But the single outstanding feature that made it a ZL-1 is missing! I wonder if this guy sells real estate on the side?? Who knows, $50-60K if it had the original motor? The one ZL-1 'Vette was priced at $60,000 a few months back, but it's the only one. There's up to 69 of the Camaros - optimistically. You know that some have been trashed (unfortunatly). But $20,000? Think I'll pass! __________ | | ------- --------- /Stuart Lewis / / ssc-vax!stuart/ --------- ------- | | ----------
