I am looking for information on the proposed installation of an Air Combat
Maneuvering Instrumentation (ACMI) system in west-central Wisconsin.
The computer will be located at Volk Field at Camp Douglas, WI. The main
antenna (500 foot) will be located northwest of Volk Field in Jackson County.
The 40 by 100 mile ACMI range will center on the main antenna.
Since I plan to retire in that area of Wisconsin, I would like to know what
living on an ACMI range might be like. We currently have much A-10 activity
(air combat maneuvers) in the area and fear that after this $33 million
ACMI system is installed things may get REALLY bad.
Any information on this particular ACMI installation or comments on ACMI
systems in general would be appreciated.
