I've heard that although the US has the ability to have reactive armor,
we've chosen not to utlilize it on the vast majority of our tanks. This
desision was due to our tactic of having tanks in the midst of infantry from
time to time. Although reactive armor DOES protect tanks, it would play HELL
with nearby infantry!
