All Udaloy ships have space for SA-N-9 and 2 Cross Swords directors.
However, the first 7 ships have incomplete installations. Unit 1 came
out of overhaul in Dec 1989, but her SA-N-9 was not installed.

Units 1 and 2: no SA-N-9 or directors installed
Unit 3: SA-N-9 installed, but no directors installed!
Unit 4: SA-N-9 installed, one director installed (originally had two directors)
Units 5-7: SA-N-9 installed, one director installed
Units 8+: complete installations

Also unit 10 has eight 12.7mm machineguns arranged in 4 dual mountings.

As far as air search radars are concerned, the first six units have
atypical installations:

Units 1 and 2: 2 Strut Pair
Units 3-6: Top Plate
Units 7+: Top Plate, Strut Pair

The first three units have no operational SAM capability. It's
antiship capability consists of 100mm guns and secondary usage of
Silex (an ASW standoff weapon) in antiship mode.

Built at Kaliningrad Shipyard and North Shipyard (in Lenningrad).
