First my "credentials": past owner of a 69 Sport Fury conv't (5 yrs) and a 72 TR-6(3 yrs). Currently an owner of a 65 Chrylser 300 conv't. (See a pattern?) Yes, you can take a convertible to a carwash. HOWEVER, 1) MAKE SURE THE TOP IS UP AND IS IN FAIRLY GOOD SHAPE 2) BEWARE OF 'THE THING THAT COMES DOWN'. Most "brushless" carwashes have a blowdryer come down with a wheel that rolls along the roof of a car. No problem, if you're a hardtop! The first time I ran into one of these was in the 69 Fury when it's glass rear window was working on falling out. I jumped into the backseat to use my hands to keep pressure under that wheel so that my roof won't cave-in. I now only support handwashes. BTW: what kind of car do you have. I've been sorry ever since I got rid of that beautiful, bright red, 318 Sport Fury. It was my first car. Other then a 67 GTO that blew up in less then 2 wks. Michael D.
