[net.auto] Need ptr to good VW manuals

libes@nbs-amrf.UUCP (04/30/84)

I have an '80 Diesel Rabbit C.

There's a red wire hanging out of my dash and I'd like to know where it
goes. Nothing that I can tell stopped working (its actually been this way
for 2 years). I can't readily trace it back, because it comes from a
harness where I lose it (although I would guess the wire goes back towards
the dash). I have the big red Bentley service manual but the wiring
diagrams are incredibly uninformative. My roomie showed me his Ford manuals
that have real color drawings showing where the wires run through the car.
Does anyone know if I can get something like this for a VW? Having had some
brief (but not brief enough) discussions with some mechanics, I can't
believe they work from the same schematics that I'm reading.

Another problem I have is that the seat belt light occasionally comes on
(yes, I wear belts) when I depress the clutch. I know it sounds ridiculous.
As my car ages and as I continue hacking on it, I'll need better manuals.
Help please.

(I already have Poor Richard's Rabbit book, too.)
