From: DEPLETE%DUKEMVS.BITNET@ncsuvm.ncsu.edu In the hustings I continue to hear that if the Allies go on offensive that the Iraqis wil resort to something called bulldozer warfare i.e. building berms in the sand and putting some armor behind the berm. It seems to me that this is not a great use of the great metal beasts? Did the Russians or Germans use this approach on the steppes? Was it effective? Some of the news clips that i have seen seem to bear out this t method of armor use by the Iraquis. It seems that our offensive tactic is the old three b's. Blind em, blast them, and burn them. Not terribly efficient with respect to troop morale and casualty rates. I also noted a M1 tank leaping through such a berm, have we forgotten tank mines ? It also seems hat armor has a long infrared signiture at night with relation to its enviroment. If the tank is static do we not have something that could go p in the night and find its way using this signature?
