	Yep, sorry too old, the age limit is 25 I believe.  The waiver is not 
just for fighter pilots, but ALL people going into pilot training.  All 
people are lumped together at the begining.  It is what you do at UPT
that determines if you will be a fighter pilot, not neccesarily your
eyesight.

	That's about what it is for locomotive engineers.  Some railroads are
even stricter on that.  It has more to do with insurance than with safety.
	It kept me out of the profession for many years.  I finally gave up
and went into computers (probably a better move in terms of regular hours for
a family man).
	But I still wish I were on the right side of a locomotive cab ...

Current requirements for flight training in the USAF include a maximum
age of 27 1/2 upon entering UPT.  BTW, Dean Martin Jr. received a waiver
of this requirement and entered flight training in the Reserves at the
age of 28.  Does anyone know the age requirements during WWII?
