From: military@att.att.com (Bill Thacker) Saturday, 28 December, 1940 Greek forces halt their advance into Albania, in order to consolidate gains, re-organize, and improve the supply situation. German and Italian sources claim that President Roosevelt proposes to remove Ireland from the US-designated Neutrality Zone; this would allow US merchantmen to carry supplies to Ireland, shortening the distance they would have to be transported by Britain's harried merchant marine. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Bill Thacker military@att.att.com Send submissions for "50 Years Ago" to military-request@att.att.com "There are only two kinds of people in France today -- one kind wants the British to win and the other kind wants the Germans to lose." - Malcolm de Bieyes
