From: military-request@att.att.com (Bill Thacker) Now that we're in it, I expect that the volume in this group, already higher than I would like, will soar. In an effort to maintain readability, quality, and my personal sanity, it will be necessary for me to be stricter than usual as to the suitability of submissions. Please try to avoid the following topics: 1) News. By the time your posting is approved by me and propogates to the net, it will be at least 24 hours old. Items to the effect of "I just heard that we hit Iraq with Tomahawk missiles" will be old news. 2) Strategy. Events will develop quickly, and postings to the effect of "I'll bet Hussein does X" will end up looking foolish as events prove otherwise. Strategy and tactics discussions are never really appropriate here, but I will be very strict on this for the duration of this conflict. 3) Personal messages. We all want to wish our troops the best, but they won't be able to read those wishes here. Remember, sci.military exists for technological discussions.
