Developed during Vietnam War for USN's LARA Light Armed Reconnaissance 
Aeroplane Competition.

North American NA-300 won AUG-1964

Sales also to Germany,Thailand,Venezuela,Indonesia

Some modified by LTV under USAF Pave Nail program as Forward Air control & 
Strike Designation Aircraft.

Mid 70's some modified to OV-10D standard as Night Observation Gunships
42 additionaly modified in AUG-1988 for USN.

USAF maintains 70+ OV-10A'a with 22nd Tactical Air Support Squadron at Wheeler 
AFB Hawaii.
