From: drn@pinet.aip.org (donald_newcomb) Some time back I read an article on a specialized munition called a "bunker penetrator." As I remember, this is a long slender artillery projectile designed to drop at tremendous speed, puncturing through earth and cement into a bunker where it explodes. I was wondering what is known about various countrys' use of these. Also, how well do they work in sand? Clean sand is one of the best bullet absorbers around and very hard to penetrate with pilings and coring tools. How far will bunker penetrators penetrate sand? ========================================================================== | Donald R. Newcomb | Disclaimer: Disclaimer?
