From: jackson@ttidcc.tti.com (Dick Jackson) The paucity of Iraqi airplane and missile air defence has been attributed to massive jamming (among other things). But their army's communications are said to be based mostly on landlines which cannot be jammed, if the lines are really lines and not via microwave towers. They must use radios at the front however, for mobility at least. My question is: do the allies have the means to jam this type of radio? What type of radio do they use? (e.g. spread spectrum?). And what implications are there for fighting a ground war when A. the Iraqis are in prepared postions, and B. if they are moving? Dick Jackson
