From: William H Broadley <broadley@unix.cis.pitt.edu> I found a rather disturbing paragraph in the Wall Street Journal, which I quote verbatim: "So far, Iraqui air-defense systems surrounding Republican Guard units have forced B-52's to concentrate on bombing the perimeters of the units' positions, according to a U.S. official. But the Air Force now is in position to appply the full force of B-52 strikes on those positions, he said." Ingersoll, Bruce, "U.S. Officials Say Air War Is Focusing on Iraqi Army", WSJ, Jan. 24, 1991, Sharon Edition, p. A3. Seems to call the claim of Air superiority into doubt. It looks like these divisions are more formidable than we have been led to believe. Any comments? Bill Broadley Broadley@unix.cis.pitt.edu
