From: umhudso7@ccu.umanitoba.ca (Wayne Hudson) I heard a rumor on the weekend that one of our CF-18s, while on a sweep mission for a US bombing run, nearly shot down a USN plane. True? It went that in thick cloud, the CF-18 detected a bogey giving off irregular signals (ie NOT ours, therefore it's theirs) and got permission to shoot it down. Before he did, though, he saw the target and visually ID'd it as a USN plane (didn't hear what kind).
