JEWELLLW@VM.CC.PURDUE.EDU (Larry W. Jewell) (02/12/91)

From: "Larry W. Jewell" <JEWELLLW@VM.CC.PURDUE.EDU>

The recent references to the USS Arizona are timely,
considering the Fiftieth anniversary of the Pearl Harbor
attack is due in Dec. I recent acquired a magazine which has
drawings of the old girl from surveys headed by the "National
Parks Service Submerged Cultural Resource Unit" (which in line
with government logic, in based in Santa Fe, N.M.)
The article was written by James P. Delgado, Maritime
Historian for the National Park Service, Washington D.C.
The dives were done over a three year period and the
drawing in the magazine are fairly detailed.
If you're a Naval Hysterian :-) like me you might find
this article interesting. The title was "Battleships at War"
(Vol 1, 1991) and is published by the editors of "Sea
Classics" magazine.
(I have all the subscription info., E-mail for further details.
Maybe VM will let me answer.)
