A question: do allied forces have Beehive munitions?

I recall these in 'Nam, in 105mm for both artillery and tanks.
Very effective against personnel in the open.

I think there was some kind of beehive round for the M79.

Are these still in use? Seems like they might come in handy
during ground assault and defense against masses of Iraqi
troops (if the Iraqis employ human wave tactics). Should
work nicely in the desert with clear field of fire.

Is there a beehive round for the M1? Are they carrying them?

(Beehive is a canister round containing small steel darts, or
flechettes (sp?), about 1.5" long. Developed in response to
Chinese human wave tactics in Korea.)

There was also a rocket fired from helicopters which shot a
submunition called "nails". Haven't seen or heard of these
lately.
