Request for TR6 information
Well, fellow netters, it seems as if spring has finally arrived in Oregon
(in limited quantities, at least) and several Triumph TR6s have come on the
local used car market. I would like to hear any opinions concerning TR6s
as the idea of owning a real sports car (real sports cars don't have tops,
right?) is appealing. Of course I don't want to be getting myself into a
can of worms so I would like to draw upon your vast experiences. I am
interested in the typical stuff like reliability, problems, parts cost and
availability, and whether or not I can do most of the work on them myself.
The two most promising cars are a 73 and a 74, both in good shape, and going
for $3000-3500. How does the price and year sound? Also in the running is
a 77 MGB that has been pretty thoroughly worked over. (Why?)
As I said any comments are welcome and if things look good I will summarized
them to the net. Thanks in advance.
