From: "Alvin M. Chan" <CHAN93%SNYBUFVA.BITNET@CORNELLC.cit.cornell.edu> I recently purchased a couple of scale model kits (Monogram) of the F-4C/D Phantom (II) - Air Defense. With the kit is an 'antenna' that is supposed to be placed on the upper fuselage between the tail and the cockpit. Judging from the plastic part's length, and multiplying by 48, the antenna should be about 8 feet long. It is mounted parallel to the fuselage on 3 supports : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx // // // front tail What is the purpose of this antenna? Was it really implemented? The box photos and cover painting (Monogram) do not have the antenna, but the instruction diagrams do. Incidentally, the decal markings are for the Niagara Falls AFB, with big rainbow stripes on the rudder. - Alvin _________________________________________________________________________ // Alvin M.
