From: zimerman@phoenix.princeton.edu (Jacob Ben-david Zimmerman) Just to stick my nose in with a question to see if I have my names straight.) An earlier response to the BLU-82/FAE question mentioned a German scientist named Dornberger. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if this is the gentleman who, during WWII, came up with the idea of bombarding U.S. ports and coastal cities from rocket platforms attached to U-Boats and thus is sort of the father of the SLBM? On a related note, I am writing a large paper on the Polaris SLBM, and I was wondering if anyone out there has some pointers to any good references on its development and deployment.
