[net.auto] Mystery Button on 1982 280zx

We have a new owner of a 1982 280zx (Datsun) which came without an

owners manual. On the dash, next to the rear window wiper button,

there's a 3-position switch which says "Time-Auto-Off". Does anyone

out there know its function??    PLEASE HURRY!!!

This button you describe is for your rear view defroster.

Time: Defroster on for x amount of time.
Auto: Defroster 'feels' glass and adjusts as needed.
Off:  Defroster is off.
