MOVIES (NOTE: All comments are from TV MOVIES AND VIDO GUIDE by
Leonard Maltin. His movie ratings range from BOMB to four stars.)
----------------------------------------------------------------
GUNG HO! (1943) 2.5 stars. Stars Randolph Scott, Noah Berry, Jr, J.
Carrol Naish and Robert Mitchum. Typical WWII action film is marked by
outrageous jingoism, celebrating the bloodthirsty mistfits of the "gung
ho" Marine raider battalion as great American patriots. A jaw-dropping
experience.
  Tue Apr 9, 1500-1700

PIMPERNEL SMITH (1941) 3 stars. Directed and starring Leslie Howard.
Zesty updating of THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL to World War II, with Howard
replaying the role of the savior of Nazi-hounded individuals.
  Tue Apr 16, 1200-1400
  Wed Apr 17, 0400-0600

WALLENBERG: A HERO'S STORY (1985) TV movie starring Richard Chamberlain.
Powerful portrait by Chamberlain of the idealistic Swedish diplomat who
outsmarted Adolph Eichmann and rescued more than 100,000 Hungarian Jews
during WWII, only to be captured by the Russians at war's end, never to
be seen again. The director won an Emmy and there were many other
nominations. Above average movie.
