With the troops returning from Saudi Arabia and vicinity, and the volume here falling off to a dull roar, I'm taking the opportunity to enjoy a little vacation. Effective tonight, Carl Rigney will be handling the group. Many of you will remember that Carl deftly moderated sci.military for a few months about a year and a half ago, so he's a proven veteran. For most of you, the transition will be transparent. Mail sent to military@att.att.com (or military-request@att.att.com) will automagically be forwarded to Carl. The same should hold true for articles posted to the group and forwarded by your sites. DO NOT send mail to the machine "cbnews"; it will wind up stuck in my mailbox for a week or more until I find it. (Well, I guess you can send mail there if that's what you want... 8-) Also, you can mail Carl directly at military@amd.com or military-request@amd.com. Those of you on the mailing list might experience some difficulties (because of the boneheaded way I've got the list set up), but Carl will be trying to turn my kludged-up mess into something functional. At worst, you'll be disconnected for a week until I get back from out of town and can manually forward the digests. In all, I expect to be living the sweet life for about a month, which should give you all plenty of time to discuss the possibility of using SR-71's (Serial # 12556 and earlier) to drop fuel-air explosives on tanks with reactive uranium armor, and whether the resulting explosion would be atomic or nuclear. Enjoy, Carl ! 8-) -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Bill Thacker Moderator, sci.military military-request@att.att.com (614) 860-5294 Send submissions to military@att.att.com
