[sci.military] Polish Air Force info Requested

woody@udcf.glasgow.ac.uk (Ian Woodrow) (04/02/91)

From: Ian Woodrow <woody@udcf.glasgow.ac.uk>

I am looking for some Polish Air Force information. In particular I would
like to know what aircraft types are based at what airfields in Poland.

Also looking for information on the ex LSK (East German) hardware, ie. What
is still in use (apart from the MiG29s at Preschen) and where is everything
else (What bases ?).

What Soviet bases are still inhabited in the Eastern part of Germany ?

I would like to visit some of the bases in E.Germany to get some photos of
the ex LSK stuff. I think this should be possible.

If anyone has info on any airshows that may be taking place in countries
operating Soviet hardware, PLEASE SEND DETAILS. Been to a couple of good
bases in Czechoslovakia (& scrounged a lift in a Mil24 for a half bottle
of good ole Scotch Whisky!). There is a show at Kbely (near Prague) this
September if anyone is interested.

Thanks

[All followups by email, please, and if there's any interest
Mr. Woodrow can summarize to the list if he likes. --CDR]
