[sci.military] Fighter/bomber name survey

From: Wes Morgan <morgan@ms.uky.edu>

I have a rather entertaining task; I'm selecting the domain names for
our Computing Center. Since I'm the resident "military guru", I'd like
to name the systems after fighters and bombers. My first thought was to
name them after American-built aircraft, but I realized that I'd be
ignoring many high-performance aircraft. Therefore, I'd like to call
on the collective knowledge of the net.

Here are the requirements:

-- I need names for all 26 letters of the alphabet.
-- Preferably, the names will be 10 characters or fewer.
    -- NATO abbreviations are acceptable.
-- The aircraft does not have to be "current"; historically
significant names, such as "spitfire" are certainly acceptable!
-- No digits or Roman numerals should be used. "mirageIII" wouldn't
       work, but "mirage" would.

As always, send your responses to me via email; I'll post a summary of
submissions, as well as my choices, to the net.

Thanks!
Wes Morgan
