From: Charles.K.Scott@dartvax.dartmouth.edu (Charles K. Scott) In the April 22 Aviation Week & Space Technology the entire issue is devoted to "Assessing the victory". Amongst the many details of military power and success was this story of an RPV that captured some Iraqi soldiers. I quote in full: "One RPV'broke its tether' and the controllers couldn't get it back on lock," one officer said. "The last pictures its controllers saw were Iraqi soldiers who spotted the RPV and were trying to surrender to it." In another story devoted to the types of missions RPV's conducted was this paragraph describing what was seen from an artillery spotter RPV. Again, I quote in full: "Pioneers were so successful in spotting for air strikes and naval gunfire that later in the war there were reports that Iraqi soldiers came out of their bunkers, waving thier arms and bits of clothing trying to surrender when they saw the RPV's circling overhead."
