From: CBTCC%CUNYVM.BITNET@mitvma.mit.edu (Chris Thompson) I recently read a book called _The Medal of Honor_, by a retired US Special Forces Major (his name eludes me). (Not a bad read, but that's not the subject at hand). In this book, the author mentioned that the US 1st Cavalry lost their colors after some battle in Korea, and weren't allowed to officially return to the USA until they acquited themselves honorably (which they did in VietNam). Is this true? If so, what is the story behind it? If it isn't true, I can't believe someone would write it, even if he did serve in the 173rd Airborne, and he was talking about the Cav (given inter-unit rivalry & all that). Thanks for the info, Chris Thompson CBTCC@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU CHRIST@SCI.CCNY.CUNY.EDU
