An unusual show....

This past weekend, Fort Monmouth in New Jersey held an
Armed Forces Day open house. Aside from a few demonstrations,
they had a great array of satellite ground stations, comm
terminals, radios, etc. on display. The other good stuff
included tanks, various transport vehicles, mobile air
traffic control tower, counter-battery radar units and a
Patriot missile launcher.

There were rides, etc. for spice and kids although my
son was content to dig in the sand at the playground.
Altogether it was a unique show.

The event was not widely advertised -- the A-10 fly-by on
Saturday overflew our house in Plainsboro on the way in
and out. That motivated me to check the NJ schedule of
events for May as put out by the state.

Four A-10's bearing down on your house is a sobering sight....
