From: <U38956%uicvm.uic.edu@OHSTVMA.ACS.OHIO-STATE.EDU> There are two squadrons in the Navy that were F-14A equipped: VF-191 Hellcats and VF-194 Red Lightnings. They were formerly on the USS Independence (CV-62) with tail code NM. I know what boats the other F-14 squadrons are on, but Independence has dif- ferent squadrons on her now, which means VF-191 and -194 (previously decom- missioned) are still floating around somewhere. My theory is this: the new boat USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) has deployed and is Tomcat equipped. The only thing is that all the squadrons available have been taken up-- except for VF-191 and VF-194. Does this mean the Lincoln has these squadrons now? Can anyone confirm this? I'm almost positive she does but I want to be absolutely sure. [My personal preference is that sci.military not be used for intelligence gathering on US Military forces, but I'll leave it to the discretion of those who know as to how to reply. --CDR] Anytime, baby...!
