1) Today's various XB-70 articles have had some redundant information deleted. There's still some overlap, but each had its own points to make. 2) On October 2nd the founder of sci.military, Bill Thacker, military@att.att.com, will be resuming the moderation duties, and I'll go back to just reading. I've done 39 digests, including this one, and have four or so to go, including a surprise issue. As of October 1st you should go back to sending articles to military@att.att.com, but if one reaches amdcad by mistake I'll forward it to Bill. A group (or a digest) is only as good as its contributors. My thanks to all of you for making this one of the most informative and interesting groups on the Net. It's been a lot of fun! -- Carl Rigney Summer Moderator, sci.military military-request@amdcad.amd.com

From: military-request@amd.com (Moderator) We're getting very comment heavy, people. Please consider carefully whether what you have to say really needs to be heard by everyone, or would be better off sent via email. Thursday's articles follow Wednesday's immediately; there was too much for one digest even after I rejected a lot of duplicates. Friday's digest 7.33 will go out tomorrow, and 7.34 will go out Tuesday 5/28, following the Memorial Day Weekend. And I hope you'll all take a moment to reflect on what Memorial Day is all about. -- Carl Rigney, interim Moderator sci.military military-request@amd.com

From: military-request@amd.com (Moderator) 1. The link between att & amdcad was down for a while so there's a backlog of articles now; things will be all caught up by Friday. 2. Bill Thacker will be resuming as moderator next week most likely. Those who get sci.military as a digest should expect to see a test message from him before long, and I'll put a goodbye note in my last digest. Article submissions should continue to go to military@att.com; Bill will switch the pipeline back to him and no articles will be lost in transition. 3. The first sci.military moderator summit last Tuesday was a success, even though Bill & I didn't see anyone else from the list at the Tied House microbrewery in Mountain View, California where we met. A day with a decent Doppelweizen is a day well spent, as the Germans used to say at the seige of Stalingrad. -- Carl Rigney, interim Moderator sci.military military-request@amd.com
