From: wcsswag@ccs.carleton.ca (Alex Klaus) Also, while I was back in Toronto, I had a chance to go the Hamilton Airshow :-). It wasn't too bad, however there some low clods. So no Snowbirds while I was there. But the 5 minutes A-10 flyblys, strafing the runway made for it.:-) Back to the min point. I had a chance to speak to a couple Luftwaffe pilots, there and asked them about the fate of the Mig-29 that were order by East Germany. He mentioned that currently they are undergoing evaluations at the present and decision on their fate is due sometime this month or next, depending on the politicians. As for their role it remains to be determined, he mentioned Air defence and Aggressors squadrons as possible outcomes of this descision. Alex Klaus <<wcsswag@ccs.carleton.ca>>

I think I read in AW&ST that the MiG-29's were offered to the US Navy at very low cost for use as adversary aircraft at Oceana or Miramar, but the offer was turned down. -Mike -- ------------------------------------------------------------- Mike Tighe, Internet: tighe@convex.com, Voice: (214) 497-4206 -------------------------------------------------------------
